After weeks of thinking my current foundation is a little heavy for me I've finally done something about it and bought a new one!
I chose Maxfactor's Face Finity which boasts to offer a primer, concealer and a foundation all in one as well as having the added bonus of protecting from sun damage with its SPF 20. This bottle is just £11.99 which is a little more expensive than some high street brands but cheaper than my previous foundation and a very good price considering higher end brands are over the £20 mark!
I have been using this foundation for a few weeks now and I wish I'd of made the transfer a lot earlier!!
Firstly, the primer in this foundation is okay. Not brilliant, just okay. It fills pores and fine wrinkles slightly however they are still visible through the foundation. I personally like to use a primer underneath. However the foundation is really easy to apply without a primer (primers usually make application much easier). The primer holds the foundation perfectly for at least 12 hours (I haven't experimented any longer).
The concealer part of this foundation is great. I only ever use a light application of foundation and this one really did colour correct my skin especially the blueness around my eyes and redness around my cheek and nose area. Very impressed.
As for the actual foundation, equally as impressive. Its very light and I would honestly say my skin feels like it can breathe and I don't feel as if I'm wearing foundation. The coverage is very even and it is extremely easy to apply and blend.
As a whole the foundation is probably the best I have used to date. It looks great and feels great. I usually struggle with an oily t zone however this particular foundation has controlled this amazingly (I do still occasionally apply matte power to the area as it doesn't stop shine completely but its a huge improvement on my previous foundation). I used to powder over my previous foundation after application to stop it budging; this one needs no powder and lasts at least 12 hours!!
The packaging is minimal; just a plastic wrapper to keep the lid and bottle together in transport, no boxes or extra unneeded materials.
The only real down side to this foundation is that there are only around 6-8 shades in this range which are all very light!! I thought I was extremely pale but ended up matching the foundation in the middle of the range so this foundation is great for fairer skin however not so great for darker skin tones. Overall I am very impressed with this foundation and probably won't be swapping again for a long time!! The only thing I would improve is the primer aspect of the foundation but for the meantime I will continue using a separate primer beforehand.
