Heres a quick and easy tutorial for my newest nail design.
You'll need;
White nail varnish.
2-3 similar colour varnishes or 2-3 shades of the same colour.
An optional glitter varnish.
A contrasting colour varnish.
Nail tape.
Top coat.

1. Paint a white stripe down the middle of the nails. Don't worry about how neat it is as you'll neaten it later.
2. Paint 2-3 different coloured stripes of varnish onto a makeup sponge and blot onto a piece of plastic or paper.
3. Dab the sponge over the nail covering the white stripe - 2 coats may be needed. Use a slight up and down motion and I find rolling the sponge from side to side ensures full coverage. Again dont worry how messy this is as you'll tidy up later; just make sure the white stripe is covered fully.
4. Once dry, now is the time to apply your glitter varnish over the coloured white stripe if you wish to do so.
5. Place 2 pieces of nail tape down the edges of your coloured white stripe making sure the outer edge of the tape is within the white stripe.
6. Paint the contrasting colour varnish down the outsides of the tape and remove the tape immediately.
7. Apply your top coat.
8. Using a nail brush or cotton bud, dip in acetone and wipe all the excess varnish from around the nail.
Tahh dahh!!
I used all Models Own Varnishes: White light, Luis Lemon, Beach Party, Fluro' Orange, Jack Frost & Blue Glint and 2mm Nail tape that I purchased really cheaply from Ebay.
