La Riche Directions - Turquoise Hair Dye - Review

In attempt to dye my hair slightly bluer to match my greeny turquoise hair, I decided to try this little pot of turquoise loveliness.

As you may know, I buy all my La Riche Directions hair dyes from Ebay and they cost around £3.50 a pot which is a great price for a semi permanent hair dye.

The pots are 88ml so you may need a couple if you have longer than shoulder length hair or if your hair is quite thick.

Above is a picture of what the dye looks like. Its really dark blue, almost navy however its fairly transparent; a bit like a coloured hair gel. The consistency of this dye is pretty gloopy so drips aren't too common (do cover surfaces and clothing though, just in case!!).

Click here is how I dye my hair using semi permanent/alternative colour veggie dyes.

So as I am applying this dye to green hair, I wont be able to show you the results. I have however tested the dye on a section of a blonde hair extension.

Here's the results;

On the left we have the previously reviewed Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Ultra Brights Turquoise Temptation which we can see is very much blue next to the very turquoise La Riche Directions Turquoise on the right.

As you can see, the dye is very much turquoise. Very bright and poppy. Just what I would be looking for if I wanted a true turquoise colour.

As with most veggie dyes, this one does transfer onto clothing and surfaces but washes out really easily.

I haven't done the wash test on this particular colour as I have only applied it to this teeny piece of extension, however judging from the shade of the dyed hair I can imagine it will fade dramatically within 5-6 washes and will need topping up every 2-3 weeks.

All in all I love this colour!! Its super bright and poppy and most definitely turquoise. A secret between you and me, I'm actually considering this as my next bright hair colour once I'm through with the green!!
