October is finally here and so is my first Wantable box!!
If you would like to receive a Wantable Box click here. You can also head over to the website using this link to go through the questionnaires for fun in your spare time!!
Here's a quick peek and review of the things I received!!
Marsk Mineral Powder Foundation - Sand:
This foundation retails at US$55.20 (approx. £34) which is very expensive for a foundation of any shape or form however it is brilliant!!
The foundation comes in a small box which is beautiful (but definitely not needed), it looks very sleek and professional. Inside the box is the tub of foundation. You get 8.0g of product which I thought was slightly on the small side considering how much it costs, but I soon discovered that a little goes a long way. Inside the tub there is a dispenser to shake out a little product at a time to avoid spillages and over use.
The foundation itself doesn't give my skin enough coverage for my liking and as I usually use liquid foundations, I was disappointed. I do however use this foundation over my liquid foundation for extra coverage around my under eye area and my t-zone to keep me oil free for longer.
The foundation has a very slight shimmer to it which makes your skin look fresh, healthy and illuminated in all the right parts. The powder itself is so lightweight!! When I opt for just the powder (rather than liquid and powder combination) I forget that I have it on; not cakey and doesn't feel as if its sitting in all my creases. As the foundation acts as a concealer as well as a foundation, I did find that my skin looked less blotchy and my reddened areas looked much calmer.
Marsk mineral foundations are made with 100% natural, cruelty free products which is an added bonus!! They are also built with SPF protection which again is another bonus to this product.
To apply I use a blusher shaped brush and with a small amount of powder brush across my face in circular motions.
Ofra Bright Action Pressed Eyeshadow - Bohemian:
This eyeshadow retails at US$15 (approx. £9) which is around the price I would pay for an eyeshadow, or a high street palette of eyeshadows (which I usually only use 1 or colours from!!).
This is probably my favourite eyeshadow since I received it!! I cant get enough of the stuff.
The shadow comes in a box with a window which I didn't feel was necessary but it does make the product itself look more professional and appealing.
You receive 4g of product in a sleek little compact which is plenty!! What I really love about the eyeshadow compact is that under the eyeshadow there is a mirror!! Brilliant for those of us who are constantly on the go or travel a lot!!
The eyeshadow itself is a beautiful chocolate brown bordering the copper side of things which is perfect for autumn!! It is super pigmented; I have found that just a small dab will go a very long way. It is a metallic eyeshadow, but its not too shimmery to wear in the daytime.
I have worn this eyeshadow for 3 days straight now and it has lasted the whole day (10/11 hours) without creasing or disappearing from my eyelids. It is incredibly easy to blend and move this eyeshadow around; I have had makeup artistry training but I would highly recommend this eyeshadow to even those who have had no makeup experience as its so easy to use.
I like to pair the shadow with gold tones but it looks equally as gorgeous on its own for a more dramatic look. I apply the eyeshadow dry using either a flat eyeshadow brush or a crease brush depending on the look I am aiming to achieve. I feel that its pigmented enough for dramatic looks and creases to apply the shadow dry however you can apply it wet!!
Chella Eyebrow Pencil- Dazzling Dark Brown:
This eyebrow pencil retails at US$18 (approx. £11) which is a decent price for a product similar to this quality.
The pencil comes wrapped in clear plastic which I'm not sure is necessary however its not as bad as a box!!
The 0.09g of product comes in a thin pencil shape plastic applicator which is really comfortable to hold and isn't too bulky. I'm not the biggest fan of the design of the product as I feel it looks slightly on the cheap side due to colouring and the amount of information squeezed onto the product.
The actual pencil itself is hidden within the product and requires a twist mechanism to push the colour up. I love this design feature as it means less breakage, no need for sharpening (which I hate) and that the diameter of the colour itself stays consistent. The colour is very fine which means you can draw more precise lines for a much more natural look. This eyebrow colour is really pigmented which means a little goes a long way. It is incredibly easy to blend and is very resistant to smudging.
This product is really lightweight and unlike other pencils I've used in the past, it doesn't feel as if I'm wearing it!!
As the colour is a dark chocolate brown, I would recommend this to dark haired people as it could look far too harsh on those with fairer hair.
To apply I brush through my brows with an eyebrow brush/spoolie to neaten them up. I then continue onto lightly running the colour along the bottom outline of my brow to create a sharper shape to work with. in a diagonal motion (go with the direction of brow) I lightly fill in my brows creating light lines in aim of them looking like hairs. I then use a spoolie to blend the inner part of the brow slightly to create a more natural finish.
Liberty Republic - Spellbound Nail Laquer - Aura:
I have most definitely saved the best until last!!
This nail varnish retails at US$14 (approx. £9) which is a brilliant price for a premium product.
The varnish comes as just the bottle. No fancy unnecessary packaging so it was immediately in my good books.
I love the shape and design of this bottle. Its squared which means that it'll be easy to store if you have other squared bottles. The white cap gives it a clean professional look.
The applicator brush is fairly standard however its the right size and shape to make application smooth and neat.
I received the Aura varnish which on the promotion leaflet inside my Wantable box, looks a much darker pink. It is however far from that, its more of a peachy pink with golden undertones. I love it!! Its a very neutral colour, perfect for work and events but also brilliant for everyday.
The drying time on this particular varnish is really quick, however it does need at least 2-3 coats and obviously this means that it takes a little longer with every coat. All in all it dries much quicker than all of my high street vanishes.
Liberty Republic claim that these varnishes bind to the nail for a gel-like wear meaning it should last for around 2 weeks. I have been wearing this varnish for the past 3 days and I haven't seen any chipping or lifting of the varnish and I can't see it happening for a while yet. I have tested how easy this varnish is to remove and despite it being a long wearing varnish, it is extremely easy to remove with nail varnish remover or acetone.
The varnishes from Liberty Republic are vegan and cruelty free which is an added bonus.
I cannot fault this product. I need the rest of this collection now!! Lets hope they're in upcoming Wantable boxes!!
And that concludes this months Wantable box!! I am a very happy bunny with what I received and cannot wait to get my mitts on next months!!
Have you received a Wantable box this month?? What was in yours??
