George Makeup - Review

As I was strolling through Asda doing my weekly shop, I stumbled across George's range of makeup! Who knew!?
I mean, I knew they did a few odd bits in the past such as nail varnishes but not a whole range and the packaging for their makeup has had a whole revamp which definitely lured me in!

I decided to pick up 3 items from this range that I would use in my day to day makeup to try out for myself; The Pro Lash Mascara, the Metallic Lipstick in Swan Lake and the Brow Tamer in Medium.

The Pro Lash Mascara retails at £4 which is a bargain considering I'd usually spend at least double that on a mascara in any beauty store. I decided to pick up a mascara that isn't waterproof as I already have a few waterproofs and in day to day makeup looks, i tend not to need waterproof anyway.
The packaging is rose gold and shaped very similar to a lot of mascaras on the market (particularly Maybelline's!).
The brush within the tube is a short plastic rigid type applicator that works wonders to separate and lengthen all the lashes when applying the mascara.
The mascara formula itself has now found itself at the top of my favourite mascara list. Its super lengthening, applies easily without clumping, its build-able for the more dramatic lash effect, holds the lashes shape/long lasting and is quick and easy to remove.

I am constantly changing up what i use to do my brows. The George Brow Tamer retails at just £2.50!! My previous method of brows is Wunderbrow which costs almost £20 so the price of this product definitely keeps my purse happy.
Packaging is rose gold coloured and is identical to most brow gels on the market at present. The brush included within the packaging is great; I found that it was fine enough to be precise with application and creating hair like strokes but enough bristles to pick up the required amount of product.
The gel itself is great quality, super pigmented, easy to apply, blend-able and lasts all day. The only thing I would wish for this product is for it to be slightly smudge proof or a drying type formula as it seems to stay gel like consistency when worn.

The Metallic Lipstick retails at £3.50; a fraction of the price for a comparable beauty store lipstick!! It comes in a number of colours and shades so there's bound to be something to suit all; I picked up Swan Lake as I'm not brave enough for bold colours and Swan Lake was the perfect shimmery nude colour for me.
The packaging again is rose gold and comes in a lip gloss shaped tube. The applicator is a doe foot which makes application easy and precise.
The lipstick itself is far too oily in my opinion; its hard to build the colour up to be opaque and it doesn't dry so moves around the lips when worn.
All is not lost! I love this colour as a highlight over a nude lip - It looks great over Mac's Fleshpot, Creme De Nude and Velvet Teddy (a little goes a long way so don't apply a full lip over lipstick!).

I am so glad that I have discovered this range of makeup!! All products are so affordable, there's a huge range of colours, shades and finishes across the entire range, the packaging is Instagram ready and the quality of the mascara and brow tamer that i purchased is amazing. I will definitely be picking up some more makeup essentials from the George range in the future.
