Max Factor - Creme Puff Pressed Powder - Review

Over the past couple of years, I have kept my makeup minimal and natural. I haven't got the time to be applying 50 different products to my face each morning before I go to work, and to be honest, even if I did, I probably still wouldn't.

I now opt for a quick and easy powder based foundation. My go to is usually Laura Geller's Balance and Brighten Foundation (you can read my review of this here). I've decided to try something new and more affordable this  time.

I picked up Max Factors Crème Puff Pressed Powder foundation in shade 81 Truly Fair although it comes in 8 different shades including transparent. It set me back a mere £3.78 from Amazon compared to the RRP of £6.99.

It's always best to go into a beauty store to test the colours of makeup out for yourself first; I fortunately managed to get this one in a very good match for my skin tone but it could've been a total waste of money if I hadn't had such luck. Once you know what shade you are, the internet is a fabulous place for finding makeup bargains.

The pressed powder comes in a round tub with a lift off lid. Within the tub is a cellophane protector to avoid damage and a flat 'puff' sponge. The powder itself is 21g which is a very nice amount for the small price tag paid especially when I'm used to paying around £15 for 9g of Laura Gellar's Balance and Brighten powder.

The coverage of this foundation is supposed to be medium to high however I would definitely say that its more of a medium coverage.

I found the 'puff' applicator sponge rather flimsy, cheaply made and disappointing to use. I personally like to use a large fluffy brush to apply this product however a makeup sponge or smaller brushes will work perfectly too especially if you wanted a higher coverage look.

This powder is super easy to apply and can be built up with the use of liquid makeup or moisturising products as a base. I find that brushing this product over my face whilst my moisturiser is still slightly tacky gives me the softer, more natural look I am aiming for however I would definitely use this as a setting powder over foundation for when I want to cover a bit deeper.

The powder is slightly floral scented but not too much and leaves a soft matte finish to your skin which lasts a good 8 hours, absorbing natural face oils throughout the day.
I've personally found rub-off of this powder to be minimal (always good when your uniform is white!) and doesn't sit within fine lines making the skin look 'cakey'.

I honestly cannot fault this product. Its purse friendly and great quality. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a cheap but amazing quality powder product to head over to amazon to purchase their own (test the shades out in a beauty store first to check which colour matches your tones best).
