Cakey-Licious - Birthday Cakes - Review

Cakey-Licious is a small cake business based in Leicester that specialises in personalised cakes for any occasion. The business can be found on Facebook "Cakey-licious"

I came across this company because the woman who owns it and makes all the cakes herself is the sister of one of my mums friends.

We have used Cakey-Licious on 2 occasions now and we have been blown away at the outcome of our cakes.

The first time we ordered cakes from Cakey-Licious was for my brother and sisters 18th birthday in October 2012.

My sisters cake was a giant cupcake in a Victoria sponge flavour and was £35. The cake was gorgeous to say the least. The base of the cake was covered in white chocolate to create the look of a cupcake case and the top was covered in swirled icing with icing flowers and butterflies to decorate. The whole thing was covered in edible glitter which made it extremely girly. We couldn't have designed it better if we'd tried!

My brothers 18th birthday cake was a simple circle cake in chocolate flavour with a mechanic theme. This cake was only £40!
The cake was covered in smudge marks, tools and tyres and was completed with a mechanic figurine sat next to a tool box.

The second time we ordered a cake from Cakey-Licious was for my 21st birthday. I wanted a Tim Burtons Corpse Bride theme cake.

The cake was 2 tier heart shaped, in a chocolate orange flavour. Again we couldn't have designed a cake more perfect and fitting than this. This cake was slightly more expensive at £65 but it did have 2 tiers and 2 figurines.

The figurines were amazing! They are so close to being perfect and like the characters in the film and completely edible!

The cake is decorated with skulls, bones, butterflies, swirls, cobwebs and roses. It even has a small figurine of the skeleton dog Scraps to top it all off.

Everything on the cakes is fully edible including the base and figurines. The cakes are incredibly unique and a lot of time, thought and effort goes into them to make them personal to the occasion and the person.
