Moroccanoil - Pump Bottle Treatment & Restorative Hair Mask - Review

After completely destroying my hair with boxes and boxes of bleach, my hairdresser suggested trying some Moroccanoil products.

The first product I bought was the Moroccanoil treatment oil with pump. The treatment oil cost around £30 which I thought was very expensive!! But everybody I've been talking to about it says its well worth the money - I bought mine from Amazon but its available from other online stores and most hairdressers now stock Moroccanoil products.

"This treatment for hair completely transforms and repairs as its formula transports lost proteins for strength; fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine; and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage". - Moroccanoil

This product is really easy to apply, it is to be used by rubbing a small amount of product into your hands and then running your fingers through your hair starting at the roots.

I can honestly say that I'm glad I spent the £30 for this product. After a couple of uses I could feel my hair getting softer and also I noticed less breakage of my hair when straightening and combing/brushing.

I use this product after I have washed my hair while my hair is still wet as I feel like I can get a more even coverage when my hair is wet. I have noticed that it does speed up drying time slightly.

I only use 1-2 pumps of this product as instructions say it doesn't need to be used excessively, however people with quite long hair may need to use 3-4 pumps.

Despite this being an oil based product, I haven't noticed my hair looking greasier any quicker than normal - I still only wash my hair every 2-3 days.

The second Moroccan Oil product I purchased was the Restorative Hair Mask. Again I bought this from Amazon at the price of around £15 - Another expensive product but I had seen great results from the oil so had no hesitation in paying it.

I was surprised at how thick this product is, I expected it to be the consistency of a normal hair mask/conditioner, however it looked and felt a lot more like rice pudding!!

The scent of this mask didn't blow me away, it was a fairly neutral scent much like an everyday unscented conditioner.

Moroccan Oil recommends leaving this product on the hair for 5-7 minutes. As my hair was in such poor condition when I first purchased this product, I decided to leave the conditioner on my hair over night. I only used this product in this way once a week for 2-3 weeks then every other week there on after for a good 2-3 months.

"Its high-performance formula is rich in Argan oil and protein to fortify and restructure hair that’s been damaged by chemical treatments or heat styling. It actually infuses protein back into the weakened hair shaft, so hair becomes stronger and more beautiful". - Moroccan Oil.

This 250ml tub of the mask lasted me around 10-15 washes on my shoulder length hair but of course the longer your hair is the less use you'll get out of a tub.

After leaving the treatment on my hair over night, I noticed my hair was incredibly soft the next morning after washing and drying it off.

Both of these products I would highly recommend to anybody with dry brittle hair caused by heat or chemical damage. I would also recommend the oil for any type hair as it has made mine look so much healthier and in a much better condition.

In my opinion I think these products are a bit too expensive and should be cheaper to allow more people to experience how great the results are. None the less I would pay these prices every time and will probably look into trying some of their other products.
