Once again I took a trip to Boots and was very rapidly found browsing the Models Own nail varnish display.
The last time I was in Boots, I noticed that Models own had brought out a new scented collection which they have named The Fruit Pastel Collection.
Again these varnishes are £5 each but as boots nearly always have an offer on Models own, I bagged this one in my 3 for 2 so it only cost me £3.33.
I chose to get a varnish in Blueberry Muffin as I'm really into my blue/cool varnishes at the moment.
The colour of the varnish (and the rest of this collection) is very similar to the blue in Models Owns Pastel Collection (BlooBloo) however this blue has a greyish/white undertone where as BlooBloo is more of a brighter sky blue colour.
The Bottles of this collection are Models owns usual size and shape bottle however the white lid has 2 stickers on it. The first is a sticker around the lid with the word "Scented" written all over it in the collections colours. The second sticker is on top of the lid which has an image of what the scent is (in this case a blueberry muffin) which you can scratch/rub and it will activate the scent of what the varnish smells like.
When applying this varnish, I noticed that the varnish when wet smells pretty much the same as any other regular varnish. It wasn't until the varnish had dried that the nails smelt as the bottle sticker indicated only the varnish smelt a lot more subtle than the lid sticker.
The varnish needs at least 2 coats. I found that the first coat was fairly patchy but the second coat quickly sorted this out. The consistency of this varnish is quite runny which makes it very easy to apply evenly but I found that this caused excess varnish to drip off the wand and onto my surface. Ooops!!
The varnish lasted a good 3/4 days which I would say is a decent amount of time on my nails without any chipping. The scent of the varnish I felt did wear off after a few days, however it may just have been because I was used to it and couldn't smell it as much.
