Crocs - Specialist Vent - Review

So as I was starting my first placement in a hospital theatre, I was told that I needed to find myself some comfy clogs else I'd be landed with some very uncomfortable clogs that the hospital provide and I didn't fancy achy feet on a 10 hour shift 4 days a week!!

I automatically turned to Crocs for some suitable footwear as I had heard good reviews about them and my younger sister had described them as 'like walking on air'.

The clogs that I was required to wear on placement needed to be machine washable and fully covered the feet. Crocs had a wide range of clogs however most of them had ventilation holes in the top of the clogs. I searched through the many pages and stumbled across these Specialist Vent clogs which were £29.99, covered the whole foot and were machine washable. Perfect!

These Crocs only come in navy blue, black or white as they are described as 'work wear' and therefore I think the thought behind the colour choices are that work attire should be presentable. We at UHL are allowed to wear whatever colour footwear we like and I was pretty disappointed that Crocs didn't do these in a wider choice of colours and opted for the blue.

Crocs seem to constantly have some sort of money saving scheme running on their website and at the time I bought these it was buy one pair get one half price which is a bargain if a family member or friend needs a pair at the same time. They also do not charge for delivery which took around 4 days to arrive.

When I received the parcel, I wondered what it was as there were no logos or markings on the box that suggested that it had come from Crocs. The Crocs also didn't come in their own shoe box which I liked as it is more environmentally friendly and I don't see the point in most shoe boxes anyway and also didn't come with any receipt (this is sent via email) which is also good for the environment.

The colouring of these Clogs was slightly different to the colouring which was displayed on the website. The clogs on the website looked as if they were a petrol blue kind of colour however when I received them they were very much a navy blue.

The quality of these clogs is brilliant! Everything is very sturdy and the ankle strap is secure.

The appearance of these clogs isn't too bad. There seems to be a huge cliché going around that Crocs or other brands of clogs are 'uncool' however because of these clogs not having holes in the top, it is hard to tell that they are clogs when they're on and have trousers covering part of them.

I ordered these clogs in a size 7 as I didn't want to risk a 6 being too small (I am a 6.5) and they fit just right, so I would suggest go up a size for anybody who is a half size and your normal size for anybody who isn't.

When trying these clogs on, I immediately understood what my sister meant by its like 'walking on air'. The clogs are extremely cushion like and the bobbles inside the clog massage your feet as well as gripping them as you walk along. The ankle strap is comfortable to wear either in front or behind and the clogs do not flap or slip if you choose to wear it in front.

I have now worn these clogs for 2 weeks doing 10 hour shifts 4 days a week and haven't experienced any major aches or cramps in my feet; obviously achy feet isn't always down to footwear and can be caused by standing for long amounts of time. I do feel that these clogs have saved my feet from any of this.

I am yet to put these clogs in the washing machine to wash but I'm 100% sure they will survive as I have had other brands of clog which aren't at the same quality as these and they have come out unharmed.
