New Look - Diamante Embellished Jelly Sandals - Review

Today I received a HUGE parcel of holiday clothes from New Look which means I am now very nearly fully kitted out with a wardrobe to take with me to sunny Florida in just a couple of weeks time.

One of the things I received in this package was a pair of New Look's diamante embellished jelly sandals in nude which were just £12.99!!

These sandals also come in black and coral - I chose nude over the other choice of colours as nude will go with any of my summer outfits.

These sandals are much prettier in life than on the website. The colour of the jelly on the website is a yellowy/grey nude colour whereas in life they are a slightly more pink nude. The diamantes on the website appear to be white silver whereas in life they are that kind of diamante that reflects a rainbow of colour when it hits the light.

The quality of these sandals (without being worn outside) is average. They are sturdy however perhaps a little too sturdy; the sole of the sandal is very stiff and I can imagine this will be uncomfortable to walk on after a while. The diamantes weren't as secure as I would've hoped; the seemed to be lifting slightly at the edges of the strips. The ankle straps on these sandals had a suitable buckle and the thickness of the strap was decent enough to hold the buckle in place without losing shape/stretching.

So far so good. However when I came to try these shoes on, the fit was appalling. These shoes are a size 7 and I usually fit a 6.5 in the majority of my shoes but they were far too small and far too tight. The connecting part of the sandal which goes in between your toes was nicely rounded off leaving no jagged edges but felt as though it was beginning to cut into my skin after just 5 minutes wear inside the house. The length of the sandal was too short which didn't help this situation but also made it difficult to get the sandal on and I felt like my heel was pushing the heel section of the sandal out  off the end of the sole. The straps that go over the top of the feet are also too tight; the straps pushed into my skin which was irritating and it pushed all the skin in my feet to the sides of the straps making my feet look really chubby. The ankle strap to these sandals is far too short. I could only just reach the buckle to the first hole (and I don't have wide ankles!). I assumed at first that all of these things that contributed to the ill fitting of these sandals was due to the material and that they would stretch slightly when worn. I decided to wear these shoes inside for a while and ended up taking them off after just 5 minutes because of how uncomfortable they are!! I could feel the straps rubbing against my skin starting to cause a blister.

Overall I love the design of these shoes and they are good quality for the small £12.99 price tag, however I wish they fit properly!!
