As I hadn't spent any money on new nail varnishes for a good few months, I decided I was going to have a massive splurge as a couple of new Models Own collections were being released.
The first collection I ordered was the fireworks collection. On receiving these varnishes, I wasn't massively excited to try them out. Yes they're pretty but I'm not so convinced they're as pretty as they could be (unlike last years mirrorball & wonderland collections).
There are 5 colours to this collection:
Banger - Electric blue & purple glitters.
Catherine Wheel - Gold & red glitters.
Roman Candle - Baby pink & Silver Glitters.
Sparkler - Holographic silver glitter.
Rocket - Red & Gold glitters.

All varnishes are fairly easy to apply. The consistency isn't too runny or too gloopy for a glitter varnish. The varnishes I feel could have a lot more glitter in them as I felt to get a good coverage over a base colour that I needed a good 3 coats.
Drying time is fairly average, just over a minute however the more coats I applied, the longer it took to become completely dry.
Like the majority of glitter varnishes I've used (both Models Own and other brands) I have found that after a day or two, the glitter starts to lift off the nail (especially if it is in contact with water) and starts to catch on clothes, hair etc. which is annoying but can be sorted out with a clear coat of varnish or another coat of the glitter varnish to stick it back down. I have also found that these types of varnish do not necessarily chip but rather wear away i.e. the glitter lifting and I have noticed the glitter losing its colour after a while.
Over all I am fairly impressed with these varnishes. They are all completely unique and they have been named both individually and as a collection really well. However this collection isn't one I've been overly excited with and I can't seem to pinpoint why.
