Models Own - Velvet Goth Nail Varnish Collection - Review

The latest Models Own nail varnish collection is MINE!!

I've literally been waiting for the release of these Velvet Goth varnishes for months now so decided to have a bit of a splurge on the day they were available on the Models Own website to buy.

The Models Own Website offers 5 varnishes for £20 which is £5 cheaper than RRP in stores. It also offers free shipping for orders of £20+ and if you're quick you might just get your hands on a free nail art kit worth £19 by entering NAILARTKIT at the checkout.
I have never had a problem with Models Own delivery; It took just 2 days and all varnishes were well packed and intact.

When these varnishes arrived, I thought I could cry with excitement!!
I have managed to get the varnishes with the limited edition velvet lids which add to my love for these varnishes however as these are limited edition lids I'm not sure how long they'll be around for.

This collection is made up of 5 unique colours:

Sardonyx - A blood red.
Valerian - A deep midnight blue.
Amethyst - A rich amethyst purple.
Absinthe - A christmassy green.
Obsidian - A gun metal almost black.

This collection may be called 'velvet' but they do not resemble velvet at all. All varnishes in this collection are full of glitter the same colour as the varnish and dry matte.

The consistency is a lot thicker than any other Models Own varnish I have ever used. The first coat I thought looked patchy due to the gloopyness of the varnish however looked even after the second coat.

Drying time is super quick!! It didn't take a full minute to dry my first coat and no longer than a couple of minutes for the second to dry completely.

I have had Valerian on my nails for 5 days now and I haven't noticed any major chipping (the tip have chipped ever so slightly but couldn't be seen unless you were looking for it). I have washed my hair and the dishes a fair few times with this on and its holding really well.

The only downside to these varnishes is the brush. I'm not sure if its been made thicker or if its thicker than usual because of the consistency of the varnish, but I found that this made the varnish trickier and messier to apply.

So far this is my favourite collection that Models Own have released. I will certainly be restocking in these varnishes when they start to run low (which could be very soon!!)
