Superdrug Colour Vibrance Hair Dye - 2.8 Midnight Blue - Review

So I've taken the plunge and decided to go back dark after swearing 2/3 years ago that it wouldn't ever happen again.

This time I've chosen Superdrug's Colour Vibrance dye in Midnight blue. The dye cost me £4.49 which is fairly cheap considering most dyes I've previously used were £6/7 when not on offer.

I have always been sceptical about blue/black hair dyes as I've tried a couple in the past and the blue wasn't very noticeable.

The packaging for this dye is fairly basic, but small and compact enough to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

The developer comes in a ready to use bottle so no unnecessary waste is added. To this you add the colourant which comes in a squeezy tube - this tube was great for getting all the product out. No waste!!

The dye takes 30 minutes to develop on a full head of hair. My hair is just below shoulder length and there was enough product to cover all of my hair.

Once my hair was washed and dried the colour was...black. Huge disappointment from what I thought would be a great colour.

Despite the colour issue, the dye has made my hair very soft and shiny (most dark colours condition hair) and the dye is even and bold with no patchy areas. The dye has now been washed 8/9 times and still no colour fade, it also hasn't rubbed off and transferred onto my clothes or pillows.
