For Christmas I was bought some new headphones as I was desperate to get rid of my headphones that came with my phone almost 3 years ago!
I was bought some Metalic Blue In Ear Beats headphones for £79.99 from Argos. The price is a little extortionate for headphones but I've heard a lot of good things about Beats so thought the price would reflect the quality and performance of the headphones.
Below are some of the features of the headphones:
I have been using these headphones for over a week now and haven't been 100% convinced that almost £80 is justifiable for this specific model.
I'm going to start by saying the quality of the music is nothing spectacular. Yes it is better than my 3 year old headphones that are falling apart but some music quality is still not 100% clear and the majority of music is still slightly distorted when played at higher volumes.
The choice of rubber ear pieces I like!! There are 4 different pieces to chose from in which all are either differently shaped or sized. However these rubber ear pieces itch the insides of my ears like crazy!! I have never had a problem with any other rubber ear pieces from many other brands of headphones and have no idea what is causing this.
The flat cord I also like. Its much longer than any other headphones I have owned in the past which has made it easier to feed down into my bag or pocket without feeling restricted for movement because of a short cord. However these headphones are not completely 'tangle free' and I don't think there will ever be a way around that with headphones.
The control on the headphones is a bit of an issue for myself as I use these on an android phone. The only action for android using the control is to stop and start music and to answer and disconnect phone calls. If however you are using an apple device volume can be altered and songs can be changed from this control as well as the same actions as the android. Why can't they design it to work equally with android and apple??
The carry case I thought was a brilliant idea. No end of times have I put my headphones in my handbag and they've got caught up in keys, pens and other things lurking around in there. Problem solved!!
I also love the range of colours these headphones come in. Its not the biggest selection but it beats other brands who usually only stock a maximum of 2 colours. This selection of colours is adequate for both genders and all look really up to date and on trend on the headphones.
