Nail Rock - Pluto Nail Varnish/Caviar - Review

One of my friends who I paint nails for bought me this Nail Rock varnish and caviar beads in the shade Pluto.

Im not sure where she purchased it from or for how much, but I have seen on the internet that they sell for between £5 and £8 on many different websites.
The varnish is a dark hot pink with a slight blue undertone. Only 2 coats are needed to get a even finish.

The packaging immediately put this varnish into my bad books. There is the standard cardboard box to hold both the varnish and caviar pot together but to my disappointment, there is also a double layer of plastic covering both parts within the box. Not very environmentally friendly and I can't see there being any benefit from using the plastic.

The nail caviar is included is made up of copper, purple and lilac beads. There is a great amount of caviar compared to other caviar pots on the market and this particular brand seems to have much smaller beads which means the nail gets  more coverage and looks much more professional.

The caviar is really easy to apply; 2 coats of varnish and when the second coat has been applied, quickly dip in the caviar pot and press the beads down to the varnish.
Drying time for the varnish is fairly quick however the caviar nails will take slightly longer to dry (around 15 minutes to fully dry).

The varnish that comes with the caviar beads is a good standard varnish and lasts a few days before chipping (I had applied a top coat from a different varnish brand). The colour isn't anything special and the colour is common on the market.

It is impossible to apply a top coat to the nails covered in caviar beads. The application of varnish to these beads seems to melt them slightly so they merge together and also removes the colour of the beads almost instantly.

After just a day of wearing this nail caviar, i found myself going crazy. It comes off very easily and goes everywhere; I've found them in my hair, in my clothes, and even in my food. Gross.
The colour of the caviar seems to have faded a great deal aswell; the beads seem to be a lilac/silver colour and the original colours can only be seen on the base of the beads.
The above issues have occured without my nails being exposed to water or any harsh conditions (for nails!!).

Removing the caviar is abit of a pain but nowhere near as difficult as removing glitter varnishes. The beads can easily be picked or pushed off the nail (again ending up everywhere!!) howevever part of the caviar remains on the varnish creating a texture which when removing, is similar to a glitter or textured varnish.

My overall feeling towards this product is that its pretty average. If I had bought it myself I would possibly take it back and if the product cost anymore than £8, I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I do now. I wouldn't advise anybody to purchase this particular product unless its for the varnish only or the caviar is only going to be worn for a few hours.
