Schwarzkopf - Got2b - Beach Matt Texturizing Salt Spray - Review

After flicking through Instagram's 'explore' page, I came across a product in the USA called Not Your Mothers Salt Hair Spray and fell in love with the finish the product gave to the girls hair. I quickly scanned the internet to see if I could get in here in the UK at a reasonable price and my hopes and dreams of getting my hands on a bottle were soon shot down.

One of the equivalents to Not Your Mothers Salt Spray is Schwarzkopf Got2b Beach Matt Texturizing Salt Spray and its available in the UK... for around a small affordable £3!! Yay!!

I bought my 200ml bottle from Tesco; I would usually pick up hair products such as this one from Boots but it was easier to order this with my food shop!!

The bottle is an interesting sort of 'squeezed in the middle' kid of shape which makes it really easy to hold and helps pump the product out with ease. The colours of the bottle are 'beachy'; a gradient from yellow to blue. The language on the bottle is American English using words spelt Texturizing and Matt where as UK English would be Texturising and Matte... but no biggy.

The product states that it will give you texturised, wavy, fuller, tousled, mermaid like hair with no heat or further products needed. It also claims that the spray will matte your hair and wont be crunchy like mousse, gel and hair spray.

The spray itself doesn't have a salty/beachy scent which I expected but smells more like a shampoo or a heat protection spray and it isn't overpowering like some hair sprays on the market.

The product is applied using the spray mechanism onto either dry or towel dried hair and then scrunched with hands until the desired effect is achieved. You can then either blow dry or leave to dry naturally.

I naturally have very curly frizzy hair and my only way of taming this frizz is to flat iron it after washing. I have applied this product in 2 different ways.

Firstly I applied the product to previously straightened hair (day after washing). I followed the simple instructions and sprayed my hair from midway down, root to tip and scrunched. I chose to leave my hair to dry naturally as I never ever use a hair dryer as they see to add far too much volume to my hair... not to mention the damage this does to my hair.
The results were pretty good!!
The spray brought out my natural curls and held them in place for the whole day, but didn't look as though I had product in my hair and didn't feel heavy and crunchy like hairspray or gel.

The second method I used was exactly the same as above, but this time I used the product on just washed, towel dried hair.
The product did exactly the same thing!! I think if I had naturally straighter hair, there might have been a bit more of a difference.

Overall I love this product!! I do feel that if my hair was straighter then it would make my hair more wavy rather than curly and I think the 'wavy' look is what most girls will be trying to achieve with this product and in that case, if your hair is very curly like mine, I would recommend straightening your hair first and use only a tiny bit of the product.
Otherwise, I love the results, the texture, the sustainability and how quick and easy it is!! Goodbye GHD's, hello Salt Spray!!
