It sucks to be me. I was born with the worlds curliest, frizziest, messiest hair and I absolutely hate it!! Thank goodness for heated hair styling aye!?
When using heat protection, I'm one of these girls that doesn't really take the whole 'hair damage' thing so seriously when in actual fact I should probably drill it into my brain that I could risk losing my hair if I don't change my mind set towards it.
I bought Tresemme's 200ml Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray from Tesco along with my weekly shop for £5.50. The price I thought was fairly expensive for the size of the bottle compared to similar sized products from other brands.
The bottle is a regular shape and is easy to hold. The product is sprayed out of the bottle using a pump mechanism. The colour of the packaging is a matte metallic red with black low lights and golden highlights which looks very professional, sleek and expensive.
The spray itself has a light, pleasant scent to it which isn't at all overbearing. I can only describe this as slightly floral. The texture of the spray when applied to the hair is similar to if you were to spray water on your hair however when it dries on skin it is slightly sticky almost like watered down hairspray would be; no stickiness occurs on the hair.
I chose this product as the television advert claims that the heat protection not only protects your hair from heat up to 240oC but also has many other benefits to using the product.
The first of which is that it restores Keratin within your hair which means your hair will be healthier just by spraying this product onto it!! After using this product just the once I felt that my hair looked healthier instantly. It was much shinier and less fly away than it was when using other heat protection sprays.
Secondly the product makes hair styling smoother and easier when using your heated hair tools. It is this completely true. I felt that the spray was taming my hair, making it less fly away which ultimately means that I wasn't going over the hair too many times causing more damage.
Lastly Tresemme's advertising states that the spray will keep your hair straighter or curled as you styled it, for longer. As its almost summer, I find that the heat underneath my hair has been making this hair curl, this product has most definitely improved this!! I can straighten my hair after washing it and not have to straighten it again until about 48 hours of after styling. Brilliant for helping me cut down on the heat and repairing my dry brittle hair.
Overall, I am extremely happy with this product. It does exactly what it says it will do and doesn't cost over the odds like some hair treatments on the market. I was a bit concerned about the slightly expensive price tag on this product however I would happily buy it again as its most definitely worth the extra few £'s!!
