This is possibly my favourite purchase this year!! Its definitely my favourite purchase from Ikea EVER!!...and I have a lot of Ikea stuff!!
This is the Gottgora Candle Lantern and isn't is gorgeous!?
The lantern cost me £20 which I thought was a great price considering you'd pay at least double for something similar on the high street.
This lantern is 48cm tall so is fairly big and comes in white. They also come in a smaller size of 26cm but only in pink for £9 or with the clock handles on for £13.
The lantern is a cage design made from metal with a lovely swirly design with little birds, butterflies and flowers intertwined. All sides have a glass panel inside to stop the wind from blowing out the flame and also make it slightly safer. There is a hoop at the top of the lantern for easy transportation around your house, however it is fairly heavy. On the base, there are 4 metal ball feet which keeps the heat off the surface for safety reasons and makes the lantern really sturdy.
Setting up the lantern takes a bit of elbow grease. The sides all fit onto the base and to each other using a clip sort of mechanism. It does take a bit of pushing to get them slotted in but altogether shouldn't take any longer than 5 minutes. Easy peasy.
The handle on top of the lantern is very sturdy and comfortable to use, making transportation around your home really easy. The lantern is fairly heavy so having this handle means you wont be struggling to open doors and struggling to move this lantern to another room. Of course it is strongly advised that the lantern is not moved whilst a lit candle is inside!!
The candles aren't included with the lantern, but I picked up 2 x 20cm, (no larger than 25cm for this lantern) white, block/pillar candles for just £2.50 each. Bargain!!
Once the candle is lit inside, the detailing on the lantern creates enough space to allow a nice amount of light through which gives off a lovely calm, peaceful vibe. The glass and side detailing doesn't appear to over heat although it does become warm however the top of the lantern becomes extremely hot extremely quickly so it is important that you take care when touching the lantern after or when in use.
The lantern over all is very sturdy, no rocking or unevenness. The only niggles I have with this particular lantern is that the door needs to be lifted slightly to drop the pin to keep the door shut and that its quite rattily when the door is open and when closing the door panel. No biggies really.

Overall I cant really fault this lantern. It scores top marks on every aspect and for £20, you can't go wrong!! A beautiful piece for any household.
