How to gain Instagram followers

 

 

There is no real quick tricks that will get you Instagram (or any other social networking) followers at a click of a button without paying for them. If you do choose to pay them, the accounts you will be followed by, more than likely will not be "active" and therefore you won't be getting more likes and comments.

 

I do strongly advise that you look into the people offering you followers for cash before you commit to spending your hard earnt £££; there are a lot of scam artists out there!!

If you do not want to be out of pocket for your followers, there are a few options you can try out. These will not give you instant followers but slowly you'll see an increase.

 

1. Showcase your photos. Make sure your feed has a selection of high quality photos, especially the top 6 as these are what people will be seeing first when they click onto your feed. If the viewer likes what they see, they'll keep scrolling meaning you're more likely to get more likes/comments and more likely to get a follow.

 

2. Themed accounts seem to be gaining much quicker at the moment. If you theme your photos you are much likelier to gain followers. People like to know what to expect from your posts.

 

Already got a tonne of unthemed photos?? Delete what doesn't fit in, create a divider and start a theme or start a new account keeping your existing one for posting what you'd like.

 

3. Be active!! Go like and comment other people's posts. The users may notice you're activity and check out your profile. If you've nailed tip 1 they may like/comment and follow. Think of it as advertising your feed indirectly.

 

An easy way to find peoples photos to like is to search a common hashtag such as #girl #boy or to search for a word that realtes to your theme to attract users with similar feed interests such as #grunge #architecture #blog. Scroll and like/comment on as many photos as you wish. Usually to get the attention of the user you must like/comment on a handful of their posts.

 

4. Follow trains are a quick and easy way to gain followers. A good follow train is one that goes viral quickly. If you search #followtrain and there are a bunch of random trains or irrelevant photos its probably not going to work so well. Every now and then, thousands of people repost the same train. All you have to do is like as many of these as you can and people will follow you without you having to follow back.

 

5. Following other people in hope of them following you back is a long process but it can work. I've noticed people finding popular accounts and following all the account's followers in hope that they follow back. This does work however only around half of the people you follow will follow back and the minority of these followers will actually take an interest in your posts. Again, think of it as indirect publicity for your feed.
Once the people have been followed for a week, unfollow them. Again, a lot of these accounts will unfollow you as you have unfollowed them, but some will continue to follow you.

 

Instagram only allows you to follow or unfollow 50 accounts in a 5 minute time slot. This means that the process will be extremely time consuming. Following and unfollowing for a prolonged amount of time will also see you banned from carrying out these actions for 24 hours to a week!!

 

6. Shoutouts are a good way of gaining followers. A lot of users are posting links to your account in return for a link on your feed to theirs. The idea is that you both make your followers aware of the others feed and hopefully people will follow both feeds from each side.

 

Start shoutouts with your friends and smaller accounts as larger accounts tend to get more requests and don't offer them as often. Feel free to ask larger accounts,  but don't pester and certainly don't turn rude if they refuse.

Once you have a larger number of followers, you can start offering shoutouts and people will be asking for them!!

Overall, you will notice that you either have to spend money to have a higher number of followers displayed on your account or you have to spend a lot of your time and effort building up your followers. There is no easy way unless you have a following of people in your day to day life similar to that of a celebrity!!
