Giovanna Fletcher - Dream A Little Dream - Review

First book of 2016 well and truly finished...okay so I started reading this book towards the end of 2015. It took me much longer to get through this story than I'd expected!!

I don't feel that this novel had enough speed to it. The first 3 quarters seemed to drag which meant I had no urge to keep picking it up.

The majority of the book told of daily events but the last few chapters were weeks apart; this completely spoilt the ending for me as it felt almost as if it was rushed.
There was no real detail within this novel however within the last few chapters, it was all very vague and to the point.

It's not badly written however it's not brilliantly written either. The storyline was almost nonexistent, there were no twists in the plot and the subjects that could've been explored deeper, weren't.

I'm not sure what the target market is for this novel. At first I thought it was aimed at young adults like myself however I very quickly began to feel that this book was suited for a younger age group...that's if the language is cut out and the sex scenes dulled down!!

Talking of said sex scenes, Fletcher came across as very awkward writing about this subject; there was little detail (not that we want TMI) and they were over as quickly as they'd started.

I didn't connect with the characters at all. I couldn't imagine them in my head, they didn't feel like living people. There was little description of any character and no personalities came out.

For me, this book was disappointing. I was hoping for an easy read but a strong storyline but neither was the case. It felt like a chore turning these pages!!
