Forza - Shake it Slim - Review

I have very kindly been gifted the Forza Shake It Slim Starter Pack and a Forza Shaker Bottle from Forza themselves. This is a great opportunity for me to test these products out and kick-start my weight loss.

The Forza Shake It Slim Starter Pack retails at £25.99 and is available from the Forza website or Boots.  The Shaker Bottle retails at £4.95 and comes in Pink and Blue.

In the box, you get 5 chocolate flavoured shakes, 5 strawberry and 4 vanilla. Each of the packets contain just 204 calories, they are high in protein and each has 21 vitamins and minerals. They are suitable for vegetarians too!!

The mix is to be shaken or stirred into 250-300ml of water. I found that the chocolate and vanilla flavours mixed effortlessly leaving no lumps or residue however the strawberry flavour left residue at the bottom of my bottle and took a lot of shaking to get it to mix.

The flavours are great!! I expected them to taste like a cheap powdery milkshake however they were thick and creamy. They are extremely sweet so I ended up using a little more water to the mix to dilute the sweetness.

So how did I get on!?
These shakes aren't filling at all... I knew it wouldn't be but I was hopeful!! Within around 2 hours after drinking a shake, my stomach was rumbling and I felt weak.

Drinking these shakes as a nighttime meal was tough!! Waking up in the morning, my stomach ached in hunger and I was weak and dizzy until I ate something substantial (which is usually lunchtime as I only have a banana for breakfast). If you can survive on swapping 2 meals for 2 shakes a day, you deserve a medal.

For these reasons I chose to swap my lunch for one of these shakes. I also felt my banana for breakfast was healthy enough and family meal times in the evening are important to me.

For weight loss it is recommended to replace 2 meals with a shake however even with just 1 replaced meal, I managed to lose 5lbs in a week and a half. This weight will soon creep back on if the shakes aren't continued or if you go back to old habits (eating junk and not exercising). As I mentioned before, I have used this product to kick-start my weight loss regime as I continue to cut the crap and move more.

Overall is this product worth buying? Personally I wouldn't buy it again unless I needed another boost or needed a quick fix for an event. Of course it makes you lose weight, its glorified starvation.
This product is good for those wanting to kick-start a healthy method of weight loss or for a quick fix before a holiday/party/wedding; definitely not for those who want to lose weight and keep it off without putting in the effort.
