Something a little different for today's post. I'm going to share with you, a bunch of Instagram accounts to follow and have a browse of for when you're feeling down, when the world seems like a horrible place to be and for when you just need a break from comparing your life to others through the use of social media.
I wake up every morning and browse my social media whilst I await my body to kick into consciousness. I love scrolling down my Insta feed to see what has been posted the day before and over night; some of these accounts are the ones that make my days a little more pleasant.

These are the accounts I follow as they help me through tougher days. I'll post all of their social media links however I personally choose Instagram for these things over the other forms of SM.
Emily Coxhead
Emily is a designer, illustrator and the creator of The Happy News Paper and her Instagram and other social media is bursting with positivity.
Emily started The Happy News Paper when she was going through a tough time; she wanted to publicise that there is good going on much more often than we think in this cruel world.
She is soon to release her first book 'Make Someone Happy' (6th Feb 18) which I have got on pre-order so expect a review soon after that date! This book is full of little ideas to inspire us to make the world a happier place for yourself, those around you and those you have never met before.
Emily really is a little ray of sunshine, definitely worth a follow.

Kandee Johnson is one of the first YouTube Beauty Gurus I started watching back in 2009 (she taught me a lot about makeup and I still look to her for beauty recommendations now!). Although her YouTube channel is made up of predominantly beauty and makeup tutorials, her personality is infectious. She is a little ball of positivity even though she has suffered many tough times over the past 9 years. She uses her social media to constantly remind people that they are loved, they have worth and that the bad times will pass.
Her life looks incredible but she is so humble about it. She was a single mother struggling to pay the bills and using YouTube to brighten her days. Now she is one of YouTube's most watched, shes a TV star and has millions of followers. She is a genuinely grateful person, which is hard to come by on the WWW of Celebs and uses her platforms to brighten everybody else's days.

Jodie is a YouTube influencer from the UK whos content is predominantly focused on beauty, fashion and lifestyle. Jodie grew up as an aspiring dancer however due to an injury she has had to put her dreams on hold.
Jodes is possibly one of the most positive people on Instagram. Like many other Instagram (and social media) users, she suffers with anxiety; although her images are full of colour and smiles, she constantly reminds us that the lives you see on SM are not always as rosy as they seem.
She regularly posts little quotes and positive affirmations that speak out to so many that feel they are struggling in life.

Rupi Kaur is best known for her poetry, but she is also an illustrator and performer who has experienced a tough life so far. I personally stumbled across Rupi Kaur when the internet blew up over her first book of poems 'Milk and Honey".
Her social media is loaded with illustrations to compliment her poems, positive affirmations and captions that reassure the reader of better days ahead.
Kaur writes her poetry based on difficult subjects including violence, abuse and degradation of women so her work on social media might not be suitable for all at present. However these poems progress throughout her books to become poems of hope, strength, beauty, survival and dignity; it is these poems and passages that I personally emotionally connect to and give me hope for my future on my darker days.

I first came across Ruby Ect after purchasing her book 'Its All Absolutely Fine: Life is Complicated So I've Drawn It Instead ' around a year ago. The book is full of funny little sketches most of which are based heavily around anxiety and depression particularly how society sugar-coats these issues. It is these drawings (and many more that weren't in the book) that appear across Ruby's social media. These drawings are simple, sketchy and the main focus is the humour within them. Its people like Ruby who break down the wall of stigma surrounding mental health.

Jessie Cave
Jessie Cave is an actress, comedian and artist. Her face looks familiar but you cant place it? Jessie played Lavender Brown; The obsessive girlfriend of Ronald Weasley in Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince (also in The Deathly Hallows I & II and a handful of other TV and film).
Jessie posts mainly her day to day activities including her own 2 kiddies and regularly posts her 'doodles' which brighten my day everyday due to how relatable they are. Cave takes relatable scenarios (particularly scenarios of the young adult/female) and turns them into comedy drawings. Her work gives me a little giggle (to myself) each morning.
