Lush - Jungle Naked Solid Conditioner - Review

2018, the year of saying goodbye to plastic!! On my quest to banish plastic from my household, I made a small Lush order which contained some of their 'naked' products!!

In my order, I purchased  Lush's Jungle Naked Solid Conditioner twice, because who doesn't use more conditioner than shampoo!?

Jungle Solid Conditioner retails at £6.50 for 50g of product, making it the most expensive of the Naked items that I purchased. If you want to find out what i thought to some of Lush's other 'naked products', you can read my Jason And The Argan Oil and Tender Is The Night reviews a little further down the blog (or click the links here).

The scent is zesty, fruity and fresh, which definitely makes this particular solid conditioner great for both men (my other half liked this scent) and women.
I cant say that i can pick out the scents of the banana or avocado, but the passion fruit comes through very strongly followed by subtler fig notes.

When I first used this solid conditioner, I didn't feel like enough of product was transferring onto the hair. It was tough work trying to soften the product down enough to distribute from root to tip.
The plus side to this small issue is that it is hard to 'over use' this conditioner unlike it would be using a regular bottled product which ultimately leaves your hair with conditioner residue leaving you with greasy looking locks.

Rubbing the bar along my hair felt as though it was too tough and was pulling hair strands out with the friction the 'lathering motion' made. I expected it to glide over my hair and transfer an adequate amount of product whilst doing so. It wasn't looking good so far.

Even when I was rinsing the product out of my hair, I was skeptical about how good this product was. My hair felt "claggy/tacky" as I ran my fingers through it to rinse the product whereas with my regular conditioners my hair feels noticeably softer and silkier when rinsing.

That being said, once my hair was combed the comb seemed to slide through much smoother than when I use my regular conditioners so i guess it did its job.

My hair seemed to dry naturally (no use of hairdryer) more straight than it usually would when using my bottled conditioner. It was far less fly-away and super soft. Once straightened, my hair didn't curl back up over the next few days as it would usually. This conditioner definitely tames hair!!

Again, like i found with other Naked products from Lush, this bar self preserved wonderfully. No breakdown of product which meant that I get the full use of the whole bar with very minimal waste.

Would i buy this again? Probably not. Although I loved how this Solid Conditioner tamed my extremely curly hair, smelt amazing and is plastic free, I wasn't best pleased with how much effort it takes to actually get the conditioner onto my hair. I feel that Lush need to look into changing the formula slightly to make it softer however I guess doing this would have a knock on effect to the preservation of the bar.
